Land of the Indian Wolf
It is imperative that we involve the grassroots' level population across the board. Crucial, if we are to be successful in our road map and long-term objectives. Documenting the Biodiversity of Koppal, setting up support groups to strengthen our team and seeking the assistance of locals as our strategic partners will be the focus of our initial vision.
Everything we do will be rooted in science. We will pursue non-confrontational pragmatic solutions with businesses, governments, multilateral institutions and other like-minded entities to effectively tackle conservation challenges and mananimal conflict. We are determined to revive wildlife populations and preserve our habitats. Our projects’ aim at conservation and management of endangered, rare and threatened species of endemic wildlife, flora and fauna.
The focus being the apex predator and flagship species of the Deccan, the Indian Wolf. And other associated species in Koppal district in North Karnataka, India. Deccan Conservation Foundation is at the forefront of the efforts to preserve, protect and conserve this region natural heritage and wilderness, considered wastelands”!We hope to solicit the much-needed support, involvement and collaboration of the scientific community, local Governmental bodies, opinion and policy makers and the grassroots level strategic partners as stakeholders in our conservation efforts.
