Indrajit Ghorpade

Hailing from the Gajendragad branch of the Ghorpade family, he has deep rooted links with the Deccan plateau. The family, for centuriesand over generations an intimate and personal relationship with the land and its people.
He has been invited to accept the post of Honorary Wild life Warden of Koppal district by the Government of Karnataka. Apart from recently being appointed Co Convener of the HampiAnegundi
( World Heritage Site, chapter of INTACH.)
Aim: To serve wildlife in a best possible manner with complete dedication and sincerity. And help in protecting the last remaining habitats of Deccan, and Koppal district with its unique and endemic flora and fauna
Experience: He has been a wildlife photographer for the last three years. He has travelled extensively across the country for wildlife photography. Travelled the Deccan peninsula and all over India and it’s forests, jungles , grasslands, wetlands , deserts and mountains for over four decades.
He has knowledge and first-hand experience of the habitats, eco systems and heritage. Interacting and having grown up with renowned naturalists, researchers’, policy makers and the local rural population he can relate to the issues on hand and the daunting task that is ahead.
He has also been working on locating and collecting data of the last remaining habitats and remaining populations of birds and wildlifein Koppal district.

K Jairaj

A member of the 1976 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Mr. K. Jairaj recently retired as Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Karnataka. He has held distinguished appointments in the infrastructure, energy, transport and urban development sectors, including Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department and Chairman, BESCOM, Managing Director, Bangalore International Airport Ltd; Managing Director, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd; Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation; Commissioner, Bangalore City Corporation (BBMP) for two terms, Commissioner for Commercial Taxes and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
With N.R. Narayanamurthy, Chairman Emeritus of Infosys, Mr. Jairaj established the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), India’s first Greenfield airport on public private partnership (PPP) basis with Siemens, Germany. Mr. Jairaj served with the World Bank, Washington D.C. USA, as senior public sector management specialist in the African region between 2004 – 2006.
Mr. Jairaj’s has academic background in economics, public policy and management. He has a B.A(Hons.) degree from Bangalore University; M.A Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, M.P.A. Woodrow Wilson School Of Public And International Affairs, Princeton University and M.P.A, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, U.S.A, where he was Edward’s Mason fellow.
Mr. K. Jairaj is active in the national management movement and served as president, All India Management Association (AIMA), the only IAS officer to have done so; past president Bangalore management association; currently on the board of governors, Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. He was on the board of governors, IIM Bangalore – (2000-2004).

KSN Chikkerur

KSN CHIKKERUR is a retired IPS officer of 1982 batch, who served as Additional Director General Of Police prior to his retirement.
Awarded The President’s Medal For Meritorious Service, he is perhaps the only  police officer ,who worked as DEPUTY INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE ,INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE and finally as Additional Director General Of Police ,CID FOREST in Karnataka.
During his tenure , heading the CID FOREST, at least 100 Crores of Illegal Wild life trophies were seized, many illegal traders were charged and convicted in the court of law, two notorious illegal wildlife traders gangs were busted, which in turn led to the solving of lion poaching cases in Gujarath and it was during his tenure as ADGP CID FOREST that two brothers of the notorious ,legendary Wildlife trader Sansar Chand were arrested, charged in Hublicourt.It was also during his tenure that as many as 200 and more anti poaching raids in deep forests of the state were conducted,which resulted in cracking down of transformer poaching,illegal hunting and illegal wildlife trade.
Considering his interest in wildlife , he was guest lecturer on Wild life laws in National Police Academy,Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Police Academy , Wildlife Institute Of India, Dehradun , regular and annual seminars on Wildlife laws conducted by CBI, in NewDelhi.
He was also the only police officer, who taught Hostage negotiations in jungle to serving Israeli Police Officers in National Police Academy,Hyderabad.
